History of The Hudson Encores
The Hudson Encores started in 1963-1964 as a female counterpart to the men's singing group The Hudsons. The group started auditioning women in the fall of 1963, and were originally billed as a close harmony and swing group. The ten original members of the Encores were called "Hudson housewives who love to sing". The Encores debuted on April 28, 1965, at the Women's Fellowship Luncheon at the First Congregational Church in Hudson. From then on, the Encores kept a busy schedule performing around the city of Hudson and the surrounding area at a variety of different events. It is unknown when this group disbanded, but likely sometime in the early 1990s.
