George and Mary Carson were both born in Columbiana County, Ohio, and resided in Wellsville with their young family. George was a railroad engineer for the Cleveland and Pittsburgh Railroad and in 1895 the family moved to Hudson, which had a stop on the railroad line. In Hudson, George also ran a Coal Office downtown near the railroad tracks. Mary and George were members of the Congregational Church in Hudson, and George once served as deacon. Mary was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and in 1937 was given life membership. The Carsons lived on Streetsboro Street.

In 1900, the eldest daughter Mary Elizabeth Carson married John Augustus "Gus" Osborne (1874-1904), a Hudson dentist. Gus was born in Hudson, Ohio, and attended Western Reserve Dental School in Cleveland. They lived in Hudson for a short time on College Street, but soon moved to Cleveland after Gus was offered a partnership with a leading Cleveland dentist. Just four years after they were married, Gus died of typhoid fever. Gus was buried in the Carson family plot in Markillie Cemetery. For five years after Gus's death, Mary served as the superintendent of the Schauffler Missionary Training School in Cleveland. In 1916, she moved to Waterbury, Connecticut, where she worked at a boarding house for working girls. Mary died at age 42 from complications of diabetes. She is also buried in Markillie Cemetery.

George W. Saywell (1879-1966) was born in Kent County, England, and came to Ohio in 1882. He graduated from the Western Reserve Academy in 1897 and graduated from Western Reserve University in 1902. He was a successful patent lawyer and also served on the Hudson Fire Department. His brother was Fred Saywell (1867-1966), who ran Saywell's drugstore on Main Street for many years.

Anna Viola Carson married Carroll Lane Rideout (1881-1958) in 1902. Anna was a longtime member of the Congregational Church. Carroll Rideout worked as a linotype operator at the Times-Press and Akron Beacon Journal. The Rideout family are longtime residents of Hudson. Anna and Carroll lived on East Main Street.
