Biography of Ralph Willis Miner

Ralph Willis Miner (1908-11/2/1993) was born in New York City and then he moved to the Cleveland, Ohio in 1950. He graduated cum laude from Yale University in 1929 with a degree in electrical engineering, he also attended the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and Case Institute of Technology where he received a masters degree in engineering administration in 1964. Once he moved to Hudson, Mr. Miner was on the village planning commission from 1970-1991, during which time he also served as the Tree Commissioner.

Abstract

The Ralph Willis Miner papers include letters, newspaper articles, photographs, programs, and publications that deal with issues of historic preservation and architecture in Hudson, Ohio, and Western Reserve Academy. It also includes letters from Miner during the time he served as tree commissioner.

Statement of Arrangement

The collection is divided into three series Hudson (Ohio), Hudson (Ohio) and Western Reserve Academy, and Western Reserve Academy. The first series includes folders on architecture, newspaper articles, publications, preservation efforts, and notes from the street tree planning commission. The second series on Hudson (Ohio) and Western Reserve Academy includes photographs and publications about the history of the two places. The third and final series that focuses on Western Reserve Academy also includes photographs and publications from and about the Academy.
