Biography of Donald Barlow

Donald Charles Barlow (1914-2001) was born in Hudson, Ohio on the Case-Barlow farm to parents Henry Case Barlow (1885-1958) and Isabel Sackett Barlow (1888-1964). Donald had two brothers, Franklin Sackett (1912-1996) and Harold Edmund Barlow (1914-2002). In 1933 he graduated from Hudson High School. After high school, Donald helped out on the family farm. Donald filled out a draft card during World War II, but was not called up to service. Donald was very active in the community of Hudson. He served on the Hudson Township Zoning Commission, and was a Trustee for Hudson Township. He was a charter member of the Summit County Soil and Water Conservation District board of Supervisors, and a member of the Summit County Agricultural Stabilization Committee and Summit County Farm bureau. Donald was married twice, Emily Fisk Pierce (1913-1990), and Helen L. Metzner Barlow (1911-2011) children, Dennis, Raymond, and Janet. Donald was the fifth generation owner of Case-Barlow Farm in Hudson, Ohio. Donald retained ownership until the farm was sold to the Hudson community in the 1980s to use as a community center and historical home.
