Scope and Contents
The correspondence series consists of the personal correspondence of various Curtis family members, including William Eleroy Curtis, Elroy Curtis, Elsie Curtis, William Eleroy Curtis II, Melville G. Curtis, and Frank R. Kepler. The first folder contains the correspondence of William Eleroy Curtis writing to his wife Cora from China, Korea, and The Chicago Herald; this folder also contains one telegram to his grandson William Eleroy Curtis II. The second folder consists of Elroy Curtis' letters home to family members while attending Princeton as well as correspondence to Melville Curtis, a distant relative, about the family genealogy. The personal correspondence of Elsie Curtis consists of letters to her brother and father. The William Eleroy Curtis II correspondence includes letters to various students at The Ohio State University requesting information about his grandfather. The correspondence folder of Melville G. Curtis provides the other half of the correspondence with Elroy Curtis regarding the family genealogy. Another correspondence folder includes correspondence between Elroy Curtis and Harry Lamb, the secretary from The Puritan Memorial Association. The Frank R. Kepler correspondence deals with the production of a genealogical book entitled the Peter Kepler Family of Erie and Crawford Counties, Pennsylvania.
